The Gospel
What exactly is the Gospel?
The Gospel is the good news that God is restoring our broken lives through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
How can I know God?
The Problem
We are all sinners by nature and by choice. Our sin has separated us from God. There is nothing we can do on our own to bridge the gap.
. . . for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God . . . (Romans 3:23)
The Penalty
Because of our sin, we are deserving of eternal separation from God. In other words, we deserve eternal punishment in hell.
For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 6:23)
The Solution
God provided a way for our sins to be forgiven which makes it possible for us to have a relationship with Him. He sent Jesus Christ to die in our place and for our benefit.
“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16)
But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. (Romans 5:8)
Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” (John 14:6)
Would you like to receive Jesus Christ as your personal Savior and Lord of your life?
Acknowledge you are a sinner
Repent of your sins
Repent means to turn. So, you’re willing to turn to God about your sin.)
Ask for forgiveness
‘I will deliver you from the Jewish people, as well as from the Gentiles, to whom I now send you, ‘to open their eyes, in order to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and an inheritance among those who are sanctified by faith in Me.’ – Acts 26:17-18
Believe
that Jesus Christ died on the cross and God raised Him from the dead.
Jesus Christ as your Savior and Lord.
. . . that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. (Romans 10:9-10)
Pray to invite Jesus Christ into your life.
But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name . . . (John 1:12)
